Peer Training is on again in January 2024!

Updated: Nov 17, 2023

Peer 4 Peer is once again offering our 3 day training course in peer support.

Held with small groups of people with lived experience, this training is friendly and supportive. You'll learn not only from experienced peer workers, but from each other! Everyone has something to learn and something to teach.

The relaxed course is fun and inspiring, designed as a bridging course. Some of our previous graduates have gone on to find work in the field, whilst others have found the courage to study further or volunteer.

"I had my first shift as peer support worker yesterday and I loved it. Thanks so much for the training. The knowledge and skills are going to be invaluable."

- Dawn, training participant

Course facilitator, Louisa Dent Pearce has 10 years of peer work practice to draw from and will share new knowledge and confidence for people who have lived experience of mental illness.

"I know my own recovery from schizophrenia and DID was greatly enhanced by my peer work vocation, and over the last decade I have been training and mentoring people to explore peer work, to grow and help others. Whether a person is volunteering or being paid, it's a wonderful validator and confidence-booster!" –Louisa Dent Pearce

Dates for the next training are Saturday 20th, 27nd January and 3rd February 2024,

9AM-3PM at Baringa Community Centre, Sunshine Coast. See our Peer Training page for more info.
